Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Blackfield' is a long-blooming perennial for the summer and fall garden with wands of black-red buds opening to deep red flowers that bloom for months on end atop rich green foliage produced in a vigorous yet clumping mound. It is known as red bistort or mountain fleece.
