Description:
Prosartes maculata (syn. Disporum maculatum) is an eastern North American forest denizen with branching stems of rounded to lance-shaped leaves. The stem tips hold downward-facing, star-like flowers with narrow, white, pointed petals with purple spots. In time, plants will form an attractive clump. Straw coloured berries form in summer. Called nodding mandarin or spotted fairy bells.
