Petasites frigidus 'Golden Palms' is a dramatic, glowing, golden form of our native coltsfoot which occurs right across Canada and in some of the northern US states. The flowers emerge first in early spring as rounded creamy white clusters that then elongate. The palmate foliage emerges bright gold with thin red edges reaching two feet or more across. Protect young foliage from slugs. This plant is a spreader so be prepared or plant where you can control it. Possibly hardy to zone 5.
